The blooms of Bengali are a dark purple with a darker black purple eye above a green throat. The petals and sepals are surrounded by long white teeth, and the fertile flowers are presented on tall scapes. I have bred more than my share of very dark flowers, and Bengali has proven to be not only a dramatic flower, but also a great parent. The plants are cold hardy.
