Huge, ruffled, and always perfect, is possibly my finest red to date. Larger than either parent at a full 6 1/2" in size, this beautiful heavily ruffled crimson red with its large green throat is a benchmark in my red program. Red color is superior to pod-parent LAST SAMURAI, and RULING SHOGUN takes size and form from NANCY THOMAS, but is larger and heavier than its renowned pollen-parent. Always flat and very sunfast, and the green throat holds. RULING SHOGUN has no �bad hair� days....always perfect regardless of cold nights. Plants are large, powerful and blue-green dormant; scapes are tall, straight and strong, with beautifully spaced 4-way branching and a total of 22 buds. Very fragrant and fertile both ways....SOLD OUT

I�ll say it again. Breeding for the ultimate modern red daylily is by far my toughest challenge.
So to meet this challenge is RED ROCKS. Ruffled, ruffled, and ruffled, this true red has lots of ruffles. Large and quite round with a green throat, RED ROCKS is an improvement over Red Bull. RED ROCKS rocks a tremendous thick scape and is nicely pod fertile, because I know you are going to want to put pollen on her� Again like all my introductions RED ROCKS does not hang and is nice and flat. This was not to be introduced until 2016 so she is scarce. Limited. Luckily she makes prolifs. Fertile both ways.
