Like Emerald Bay on steroids MORNINGSIDE blooms each morning in daylily perfection. With large rolled back overlapped petals, and the cleanest warm lavender coloration, this flower is heavy like wax, and has a wide sparkling full yellow/ gold edging. The yellow/gold edge matches the large yellow watermark. Simply put MORNINGSIDE reminds me of Happiness! A lovely color combination. Fertile both ways.

For size, width, and substance, this oversquare beauty is the most imposing of the 33 sibs to BIG FROSTY and most resembles my vision when making this cross. This is the only sib to combine the ultra-wide flower form 6"-4 1/4" with color this white and only one to have a scape as tall, strong and well branched as SILVER SURFER. SILVER MOUNTAIN is more perfectly flat than sib VANILLA MILK SHAKE, and seldom recurves. I love them both but SILVER MOUNTAIN is the only sib I used as a pollen parent - and this summer I took it to BIG FROSTY and its other sibs as well as FANCY LACE and the fabulous KING SOLOMON'S TREASURE. BIG FROSTY is larger, and VANILLA MILK SHAKE is more graceful, but SILVER MOUNTAIN boasts the heaviest substance, the strongest scape and the largest plant. Scapes are ramrod straight with 3-4 way branching and up to 30 buds. Simply put, SILVER MOUNTAIN is a "world class" near-white that should prove essential to every breeder of white daylilies.
