Flowers ofSupernaturalare wine purple with multiply patterned bands A very intense green throat with a blue- purple eye zone. It radiates into multiple colors of blue, purple and maroon, carried on both the petals and sepals. A break though in pattern breeding , conversion on conversion hybridizing. Supernatural brings new genetics to the tet level. I have always seen the pattern , sometimes more and sometimes less. Photo shows about 10-12 different shades of color in throat and eyezone. This is my best photo. It has been an outstanding parent for me. I consider Supernatural a hybridizers plant for several reasons. Does not always open flat, this happens because of heavy substance. It looks and acts like a conversion. However all the kids have been fine. It is not hardy outside in my zone 5 garden. Recommend for zone seven and higher or green house in zones lower than seven.....$100 single fan

Tetraploid (Dragonfly Dawn x Tetra Texas Kaleidscope) 37" E. Re. Ev. 7 1/4" Some times you just get lucky! From a cross of only two seedlings I bloomed the best patterned daylily I have seen to date. Waves of Joy is early, tall (37",) large (7 1/4",) 26 buds, easily pod fertile, and perhaps the finest parent I have ever used. Seedling after seedling was selected last summer. "Waves" is lavender blend with a lavender violet, and blue violet patterned eye oftentimes with white waves. The name comes from the lyrics from the Beatles song "Across the Universe" referring to a life well lived having "pools of sorrow" and "waves of joy." There is much joy in my life! A hybridizer friend said there were patterned daylilies before Waves of Joy and then there will be those after Waves Of Joy. Exceedingly limited.
