VENUS FLYTRAP- (Gossard, James 2008)
(Order or Chaos x Shinto Etching) x ( Forestlake Ragamuffin x Heavenly
Beginnings)
TET 32" MLate Dormant emo fr Rebloomer 6" 3-4 way branching 18-22 buds. Very fertile both ways.
Venus Flytrap is a break though in teeth hybridizing, white teeth on a maroon red flower. I believe this one to be the best introduced teeth daylily variety to date. Why? It is dormant, has super good color, not purple. Has a green throat,
unlike many which are orange or yellow. Teeth have multiple colors of maroon, white, yellow and gold. It is a strong rebloomer, much like it's grandparent STARTLE. It has a double dose of HEAVENLY BEGINNINGS genes, a super northern plant. I have never seen it without teeth, whether in the green house or outside. I expect it to grow well across the USA, however it is not very happy in the greenhouse due to it's dormancy. Photo is outside in full sun.
It has been a super hybridizing parent for teeth daylilies and a grand garden cultivar.
I am well known for my teeth hybridizing, this is one of my best.
Vampire Slayer (Polston, 2013)
(2013 Polston) 28" 5" 3-4-Way Branching, 15+ Buds. Dor, Tet.
This wonderful offiering of a kid out of our "Lady Stephanie Victoria Reddling" x "Ruffled Strawberry Parfait"
and wll give the owner a double dose of genetics on a most unusual dagger toothed flower. RSP is in the background on both sides of
this beauty so it stands to be prepotent for teeth.Fertile Both Ways
