This 6.5"-7" bright red UFO is far and away the most spectacular and heavily fringed of all shark's teeth UFOs I've seen to date. I crossed all the narrowest edged varieties to my own TOOTH AND NAIL in hopes of getting a really big narrow flower with teeth. ARACHNID combines STARTLE AND FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN with 2 doses of Tet. SPINDAZZLE, and the combination of color and teeth goes way beyond anything I achieved at the f-1 level. Takes red color from parent WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES, and fringe from TOOTH AND NAIL, but the teeth on this stunner far exceed those of both parents. In fact, the teeth and fringe on ARACHNID go way beyond any narrow tooth variety in commerce -period. The teeth on thesepalsof ARACHNID are larger and more numerous than the teeth on thepetalsof most teeth daylilies. ARACHNID is not a 4:1 UFO, but is close enough that I would never cross it to the rounder forms. Blooming on a strong tall 36" scape, which boasts 3 laterals, a terminal cluster and over 30 buds, ARACHNID rivals BARB WIRE as best toothy UFO in commerce. BARB WIRE is slightly narrower, but ARACHNID has better color and a lot more teeth. Plants are large, with wide arching blue-green foliage and form a truly spectacular garden clump. Fertile both ways; pods require persistence.
