These are my final seed offerings for the season. Thank you, everyone! May your gardens be filled with new friendships and flowers this coming summer.
Pod parent: JOHN’S HERITAGE (Ned Roberts 1994) M 34" DOR this 7" deep purple UFo has curled sepals and wiggly petals, a green yellow throat and a bud count of 38. Praised by Bob Schwarz for its unusual branching. I really need to take a better picture of it as it's one of the bluest purples I grow and has much better movement than these shots indicate. Pollen parent of NEFERTARI and WINGED BEING (DAMSEL IN DISTRESS X CERULEAN STAR).
Pollen parent: DS270C1BLC3RD-1 (unregistered) 36” probably L most likely DOR When I displayed an image of this seedling against a ruler on the spider robin in 2015, 2 hybridizers requested a piece. However, I hadn’t selected it because I thought the immense 16” size of that year was a fluke and bloom season was over so there was no way to locate it. Turns out 16” was not a fluke! When it bloomed during the extreme drought of 2016, it was just ½” smaller. Imagine if it had received some decent irrigation! It also had a lateral branch and 15 buds. It was still a rather washed out pink, but I admitted its hybridizing potential and moved it to the selected bed. Unfortunately, the plant was only 2 fans and I now want to keep one of them so the promised pieces will have to wait until 2018 to be mailed out. {[(Dallas Star seedling that was a sibling to LIQUID MEMORY x ORCHID CORSAGE) x BANSHEE LOVE CALL] X THIRD ACT}.
Goals: Hoping for huge spiders with deeper color.
The seeds have been air dried for 1-3 days before being refrigerated. Please store them in your fridge until ready to plant.
Due to the prolonged extreme drought and record heat this year, there will be significantly fewer offerings. Bonus seeds will still be included for prompt contact and payment.
