Rainbow Butterfly
(Gossard, James) 2013 introduction
(Unshakable) x (Aliens in the Garden)
Tetraploid, Scape Height 47", Midseason, Dormant, Early Morning Opener, Fragrant, 9- 10" Bloom, 3-4 way branching, 18-22 buds. UFO - Crispate. Rebloomer.
Flowers of Rainbow Butterfly are wine red with a green throat. Eye zone is patterned in a rainbow of broken colors, one of which is a bold fluorescent orange band. I believe 'Rainbow Butterfly' is a breakthrough in hybridizing patterns. I have never seen such an orange fluorescent band before in daylilies. What sets it apart is that the band gets more and more intense as the day goes on. Adds a new trait in hybridizing patterns. Furthermore it's on a red flower, only other patterned red that I know of is its parent 'Aliens in the Garden'. A super hybridizing daylily for large patterned spiders.

She's So Outrageous
(Gossard, James) 2015 introduction
(Aliens in the Garden) x (tetra Crystal Blue Persuasion x Ninja Storm)
Tetraploid , Scape Height 37" Midseason, Dormant, Early Morning Opener, Fragrant, 8" Bloom, 4-5 way branching, 18-28 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer. Very good rust resistance. Northern Hardy.
Flowers of “She's so outrageous” are red with a broken darker eye zone of various shades red and a green throat. Pedigree is also very interesting being from lots of conversions. These rare genes not found in any other daylilies. Patterned red daylilies are very rare, only one or two exist. I just love this daylily. A super hybridizing and garden plant.
