Pod parent: FIJI MERMAID (Michaels 2010 intro registered in 2009) ML 35" DOR 6˝" this flesh pink blend Crispate Unusual Form with lighter ruffled edges and large cream yellow throat almost always displays hooked quilling once established. A pod and pollen fertile diploid. With a terminal Y plus one lateral averaging 18 buds, it's a good increaser and makes small to medium fans [(PRAGUE SPRING x BANSHEE WHISPER) X FLAMINGO LINGO].
Pollen parent: NNWSHHYP-8 (unregistered) L 42” DOR 11” With thick, sturdy scapes and 2 laterals holding 22 buds, I could not help but select this curled and twisted orchid Cascade Unusual Form with its big yellow to chartreuse throat when it first bloomed in 2015. Unopened buds often look as if they are spiraled. I’d almost introduced its mother, and still keep it as a bridge plant, because it has great branching with 30+ buds but chose its sibling, MAIN SQUEEZE, for its extreme form instead. NNWSH27HYP-8 is definitely in contention for future (2019 or 2020) introduction. [(NINA NINA WOLVERINA x SCISSORHANDS) X HYPER].
Goals: Hoping for large quillers with ruffled edges.
