Pod parent: WILSON SPIDER (Oakes 1987) M (ML here) 28" DOR 4.6:1 gracefully recurved 7½" purple bitone with tremendous white starburst eye and green throat, '94 Harris Olson winner. Said to be quite rust resistant, it is the pod parent of CHEAP QUILLS, CONCORDE NELSON, MEMPHIS INSOMNIAC, CASCADING PURPLE, FLIP FLOP, PLATYPUS PAM, SHOO FLY PIE, STAR OF LEAH and JOYCE'S CURLS, pollen of ANJA BECKMAN, EMMAUS, ESAU'S FOLLY, FUCHSIA COCKATOO, JACOB'S LADDER, LIZARD'S GLIDING LIGHT, REGAL VISION, ROYAL VESTMENTS, SAGACIOUS BOB, SMALL WORLD GREEN EYED MONSTER, SMALL WORLD JACK IN THE BOX, SMALL WORLD TWISTER, SUZY CREAM CHEESE, STAR CATCHER, SERVANT KING, TANIMBAR COCKATOO and TWO CATS MOURNING. Won a long overdue Award of Merit in 2009.
Pollen parent: EL3RD-1 (unregistered) 32” M DOR 8” or so (13” wingspan) yellow with a dusted rose eye on all tepals and a green throat. Selected in hot and dry 2016 because it was majorly curly and, hurray, it was just as curly in the much cooler and wetter of 2017. Bud count has only reached 11 so far, but I do suspect that will increase once the plant is established. Might be the curliest seedling in the garden to date. Rebloomed in 2017 and is being observed for possible future introduction. (EVERYTHING LOUDER X THIRD ACT).
