A good opener here, but not recommended if your nights are typically in the 50’s. Merlot; lavender purple eye; ivory toothy edge on petals and sepals; green throat. Beautiful clear color. I never tried it with patterned things since I had forgotten it was out of Entwined in the Vine, so will correct that in 2017

When I make a cross, I have a specific goal in mind. Maybe it is to increase height, maybe to create a more saturated bloom. Maybe to improve the northern hardiness of a strong southern daylily. With Heavenly Ravenclaw, the cross of Salter's Gorgeous toothy purple Mort Morss and my own Behemoth Heman, I'm introducing a stunning cultivar that surpasses both parents. A deep purple color like Mort Morss, but much more saturated and with gleaming gold and white edge of ornate undulating teeth, sometimes long and thick enough to be called claws instead. Heavenly Ravenclaw gets its size- an incredible 8 inch bloom diameter on a 38 inch tree-like scape- from Heman.
