AUCTION IS FOR 5 SEEDS FROM THE CROSS OF ADAMANT X CARNOSAUR.
POD PARENT DESCRIPTION:
ADAMANT
$125 SINGLE FAN
6" X 28" SEMI-EVERGREEN
20 BUDS 3 BRANCHES
HACKSAW X BITES LIKE A THOUSAND TEETH
ADAMANT IS THE FIRST OF THE HACKSAW KIDS TO BE INTRODUCED. IT BOASTS GOOD COLOR CLARITY AND THE COLOR HOLDS WELL IN FULL SUN. GREEN THROATS ARE IMPORTANT TO US AND ADAMANT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT IN THAT AREA. HOWEVER, IT IS THE BRISTLING EDGE ON THE PETALS AND SEPALS THAT SETS ADAMANT APART. WE THINK IT HAS MORE BREEDING ABILITY THAN EITHER PARENT.

A while back on the Facebook Daylily Hybridizer's Nook group run by my friend Bobbi Johnson, the question was asked whether hybridizers stick with their own lines or whether they import other genetics into their breeding. While I do cross some seedling on seedling of my own breeding, every year I visit other hybridizers gardens to see what they are working on, where they are headed, and buy from them when I see something outstanding that would do well in my program. I spend thousands of dollars every year on introductions from other hybridizers, not only in support of their craft, but also to benefit from the different genetics and lines by incorporating them into my own. CARNOSAUR is one of my Crowning achievements and one of the introductions I am most proud of introducing this year. Not only is it a KILLER sunfast, hard to achieve blood-red, but it also utilizes in its parents' genetics some of what I consider my friends Mike Holmes, John Benz, and Matthew Kaskel's best work with Benz's White Fang, a seedling of Kaskel's and Holmes's Happy Holidays to You. Carnosaur is not only an OUTSTANDING, stand-out daylily amongst its toothy peers, but has UNLIMITED potential to take color saturation, teeth, and plant performance to a whole new level.........$150 SF, SOLD OUT.
