Kulpa Genetics Seedlings x Best Toothy Pollen of the Day! 5 Seeds
POD:Kulpa genetics seedlings:Ok as some of you may have noticed, I have a great number of toothy seedlings some of which show excellent promise. The pod parents for these seeds are ALL: over 6", teeth on petals and sepals, have Kulpa Genetics on both sides of their heritage and are beautiful and worthy of doing crosses with. Simple as that.
POLLEN:Best complementary pollen of the day. It works like this.. i pick the best red toothy pollen and cross to seedlings that I feel are a complementary match by color and form. The I move to purple, pink, near white, etc. This includes, pollen parents with Kulpa, Polston, Gossard, Matton registered cultivars, as well as my one (Vitale) select seedlings. Occasionally also grab frozen pollen if the spirit moves me.
Process:Most days I do several hours of careful crosses carefully labelling each bloom with the pollen used and carefully flagging new blooming seedlings with great promise with a flag, taking pics, etc. When I run out of steam and there are still exceptional blooms begging to be pollinated, I start dabbing with the best complimentary pollen i have handy and I mark the pods as "pollinated" with so specifics. This is a quick and lazy way of getting exceptional seeds... BUT, the pollen parent is not recorded.
RESULT:Beauty with and incomplete pedigree. Essentially, what we have here are seeds from premium crosses using cutting edge toothy genetics as BOTH pod and pollen parents. One the down side, apart from knowing that kulpa genetics are on one or both sides of the cross, all other data is unrecorded and so unknown.
Trust me when I tell you that I will be planting many of these myself! I am mainly offering these so people who are not comfortable investing $$$ in toothy seeds from the $$$ toothy parents have a chance to grow some crazy beautiful toothiesat an affordable price.
General Information
Special Crosses This Year:This year I will be offering many seeds involving crosses from my own toothy and bearded select seedlings. This was a tremendous amount of work because young seedlings set few pods which means many more crosses fail. The reason I did this is because I would really like to leap frog to the next level. By selecting the best of the best seedlings from premium named crosses I am hoping for larger blooms, better branching, bolder colors, more teeth especially on sepals, exquisite bearding, etc. I was going to plant all of these seedling crosses but decided that I would offer seeds from such crosses as well.
Photos:I apologize if my photos do not reflect the true beauty of the parents in this cross. In most cases I am using my own photos from my garden. This way you know I have the plants and that they have bloomed for me. I encourage people to search the Internet for hybridizer photos as well to see blooms at their very best.
Fresh Seeds:All seeds are from 2022 and were grown by me in my Newaygo, MI garden which is zone 5. Seeds are dried for2+ days and then refrigerated. Depending on the genetics some seeds are round and shiny others are wrinkled like raisins (especially toothy and highly ruffled Tetraploids in my experience)
General Background:I promised myself I would not plant more than 7,500 seeds. As a result, I am offering a portion of many of my crosses for those interested... even seeds from crosses that the hoarding dragon in me resisted selling! LOL
Payment:This is a hobby for me and not a business. As such, I am only shipping within the United States ($4) and Canada ($12). Shipping fees are per shipment regardless of how many packets are included. I accept Paypal, Venmo, CHECK and MONEY ORDERS. Payment must clear prior to shipping.
MORE FINE PRINT:
Seed shape and size and degree of shrivelling varies greatly from variety to variety. Please do not be alarmed if some seeds are small and some look like little dried raisins.
Seed germination is a complicated matter and depends on many many factors that are outside of my control. As such,I cannot guarantee germination rates. However, if you get zero germination on any cross please let me know and we will work something out in the way of a credit, refund or other arrangement.
