Hostas never come back from seed the same as the parent. This is one of the ways that new hostas are discovered year after year. While they are not the easiest to start, I have a great way of starting seeds that works with all seeds. I have used this method many times with daylilies and morning glories, which can be notoriously slow. I am including instructions for propagation.
Seeds have been stratified and are ready for planting. If you are not planning on planting them right away, please keep them in the freezer.
