It is time to start offering some crazy pattern and blue opportunities. I find patterns an interesting and developing niche, as many do. I see lots of problems, though, when it comes to colors, form and edges and even plant habit. I am positioning my efforts to fix these first and/or not give in to letting those weaknesses perpetuate. When the patterns themselves catch up to the cutting edge, I believe they will have the whole package and take a quantum leap to the head of the class when done this way.
You are bidding on 5 seeds from a Eustace seedling that I call 'bubbles' crossed to a special etherealblue sdlggarden name 'blue pearl'. Again, pursuit of special bubbled blues is the name of the game here.
'blue pearl' is the best real blue we have in the garden when considering the overall bloom. 'blue denim' is a darker nice blue, but the form is old with no edge intrigue. I think the outer edge also tilts toward green with a tooth or two sometimes.
When I list seeds, I am offering them from the heart of my breeding program with special regard for the angles I see available in the parents, especially when paired together, to make incredible offspring. I start first with plants (seedlings) that are at least good performers that look special and are fertile in my garden. I take them to great pollen parents (usually my seedlings) that will hopefully make a combination designed to fill an integral niche within my future programs. Your opportunity is to align your own efforts with these programs years before they will ever be ready for the typical introduction market. I think this is an incredible opportunity for future "insta-linebreeding" that will quicken the progress you can make without sacrificing integrity.
I will never cross"hot hem #1" to "hot hem #2" just to ride the wave of momentary popularity to the largest auction closes. I consider it a first priority to fix what lacks in the latest and greatest whenever necessary; not allowing myself to perpetuate mediocrity by crossing faults to faults. Often, I will attempt to merge a distinct feature into another distinct feature. If these are both recessive, I believe it will take an F2 generation derived from a wide sample of F1 siblings inter-crossed to bring the elusive traits together in a grandchild that still doesn't give away any of the ancillary good or great traits that the grandparents were chosen for.
Shipping by Priority Mail is $6 (with free $50 insurance and tracking) which will be waived if you have at least 6 lots sent at the same time. If the minimum Priority (or flat rate) is less, I will adjust it accordingly. I no longer desireto use bubble envelopes because of higher parcel cost that have damaged at least one delivery anyway. Payment is due within 24 hours of auction close. I will hold shipping until you request it, giving time for you to group purchases as I cycle more auctions out
