Heavenly Angel Ice ( Gossard, 2005) x Pattern Breaker (Gossard, 2014) – 6 sds
Pattern Breaker
(Gossard, James) 2014 introduction Seedling # P1
(Trahlyta x Pattern Maker) x (Lavender Curls x Chaotic Design)
Diploid 48" Early Mid season Semi-Dormant emo fr 9" 3-4 way branching 22-28 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer. UFO - Crispate- Cascade.
Flowers of Pattern Breaker are light pink with a blue, purple and maroon broken pattern on both petals and sepals and a very green throat. Pattern Breaker always shows the broken pattern, can be a little variable, as photos show. Been a tremendous parent at both the dip and tet level. I always called it P1, because it was pattern number one. It has my best patterned dips in it, Pattern Maker and Chaotic Design, both of which have some cool genetics in them. It has taken me 10 years to get a dormant broken pattern. First I had to start with was the small patterned evergreens of Salter. It took 10's of thousands of seedlings to get to Pattern Breaker. A great place to start a dormant patterned line. Completely different genes than anyone else is using. Super parent........$200 single fan

Heavenly Angel Ice is a very ruffled near white unusual form with sepals that twist and curl. Both the petals and sepals are ruffled. It has a nice green throat with up to 5 way branching and 27 bud count. Very strong rebloom, blooming till frost in the north. A perfect flower all day long, by noon it's pure white, nice till after dark. My most important white breeder, from line bred white breeding. Being purchased by many of the top hybridizers to convert. An outstanding garden cultivar. Easily fertile both ways, incredible kids. Won 2006 Mildred Schlumpf Photography Award (best slide of an individual daylily bloom, taken by Duane Hurlbert). Photo inside rear cover of The Daylily Journal Vol. 61. No. 3 Fall 2006.
